Gregory A. Bird
President |
Greg Bird is president and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Greg founded the company in 1991.
After graduating from Texas A & M University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering, Greg worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and then Cawley ,Gillespie & Associates, eventually becoming partner. He worked in areas of reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis.
Greg is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also serves as a board member of several organizations including the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Industry Board, TCU Energy Institute, Longhorn Council - Boy Scouts of America Foundation and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. Greg was the 2010 -2012 president of the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America and is the past president and a current member of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth. He is also a member of the Dallas Petroleum Club, Fort Worth Air Power Council and several professional organizations including the Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Fort Worth Wildcatters. Additionally, he is involved in other community and philanthropic efforts through the Gregory A. and Laura E. Bird Foundation.

John T. Jarrett
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer |
With more than 30 years of accounting experience, John T. Jarrett has been Jetta’s chief financial officer since September 2003 and has provided tax, financial and accounting services to the company since 1992. Prior to joining Jetta, John was the founder and managing partner of Jarrett Smith CPAs, P.C., a certified public accounting firm based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
John received his B.S. degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and became a certified public accountant in 1984. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael F. Richardson
Executive Vice President |
Michael F. Richardson leads the technical team at Jetta and has been with the company since 2000. With over 20 years in the oil & gas industry, he has extensive experience in reservoir engineering, stimulation, production and field development. Mike has also held key positions with Exxon Mobil and Union Pacific Resources. He is a 20 year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has served as chairman of the Fort Worth section and has authored numerous technical papers. Michael earned his B.S. degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989. |

Jeanette J. Clark
Vice President, Controller, Treasurer |
Jeanette J. Clark has been part of the management team at Jetta since 1997. Prior to that, she was the financial accounting manager at American Quasar Petroleum and at Wolverine Exploration Company in Fort Worth. Jeanette also served as vice president, accounting at Petroleum Financial Inc. for five years before joining Jetta.
With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Jeanette is a member of the Council of Petroleum Accountants. She received her M.A. degree from Texas Woman's University in 1970. |

Rick Cornelius
Vice President, Contracts |
Rick Cornelius has worked for Jetta since 1994 and is part of our business development group. Prior to that, he worked for Texas Oil and Gas Corporation for more than 12 years and then became president of Millennium Energy Corporation, a small exploration company he founded in 1990.
Rick has over 35 years of oil and gas land experience, more than 25 years of that time in management and received his B.B.A. degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1970.

Shannon Nichols
Vice President, Land |
Shannon Nichols recently joined Jetta and is responsible for management of all land operations. Prior to joining Jetta, he was land manager at XTO Energy Inc. and prior to that held key positions with Burlington Resources and Devon Energy.
Shannon has over 22 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Central Methodist College in 1988.
Shannon is member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen.

Gordon Roberts
Vice President, Business Development |
Gordon H. Roberts leads the business development group at Jetta overseeing new ventures as well as coordinating acquisition and divestiture efforts. Gordon began working at Jetta in 2000 as a geologist responsible for Thompson Field along the Texas Gulf Coast and additional properties in the Permian Basin. Prior to joining Jetta, he worked at Bass Enterprises Production Company and since then has accumulated more than 15 years of oil & gas industry experience working basins within the lower 48 states.
Gordon is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Fort Worth Geological Society. He also serves as a board member and past president of the Oil Information Library of Fort Worth. Gordon earned his Bachelor degrees in geology and economics from Texas Christian University in 1995.

Michael S. McKee
Manager, Geology |
Michael S. McKee joined Jetta in 1998 and manages the Geology and Geophysical staff. Mike began his career as an Exploration Geologist with Fortson Oil Company in 1988. Mike has diverse geologic experience working a wide variety of regions including the Wyoming Powder River, North Texas, Texas Panhandle, West Texas, East Texas, Texas Gulf Coast, Louisiana Gulf Coast, Oklahoma, Mississippi Salt Basin, and the Appalachian Basin.
Mike is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and former President of the Fort Worth Geological Society. He also served on the board for the Oil Information Library of Fort Worth. Mike received his B.S. degree in geology from Texas Tech University in 1985 and attended the M.S. Geosciences program at UTA until 1988.

Kurt Pizalate
Manager, Drilling and Operations |
Kurt Pizalate brings over 30 years of engineering experience to the Jetta team as the drilling and operations manager. He began working at Jetta in 1999 as an operations engineer focusing primarily on production and stimulation, working most of Jetta’s major regions. Kurt’s career began at Unocal as a drilling engineer. His main focus was drilling wells offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, followed by both onshore and offshore production and reservoir engineering. He was promoted to district production manager. Kurt then moved to Tyler to work for EOG Resources before joining Jetta.
Kurt graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980 earning a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering.
