Gregory A. Bird

President

Gregory A. Bird is president and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.

Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A & M University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering, Greg was the recipient of the Robert L. Whiting award for outstanding senior petroleum engineering student.

After college, Greg worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and Cawley, Gillespie & Associates in areas of reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis. He became a partner with CG&A in January, 1989.

Greg is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also serves as a board member of several organizations including the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Industry Board, TCU Energy Institute and the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America Foundation. In addition, he is the 2010 -2012 president of the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of American and the 2009-10, 2010 -2011 president of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth as well as a member of the Fort Worth Air Power Council. Greg is a member of several professional organizations including the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Fort Worth Wildcatters. He is also involved in other community and philanthropic efforts through the Gregory A. and Laura E. Bird Foundation.

John T. Jarrett

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

With over 25 years of accounting experience, John T. Jarrett has been Jetta’s chief financial officer since September 2003 and has provided tax, financial and accounting services to the company since 1992. Prior to joining Jetta, John was the founder and managing partner of Jarrett Smith CPAs, P.C., a certified public accounting firm based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

John received his B.S. degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and became a certified public accountant in 1984. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. 

Jeanette J. Clark

Vice President, Controller, Treasurer

Jeanette J. Clark has been part of the management team at Jetta since 1997. Prior to that, she was the financial accounting manager at American Quasar Petroleum and at Wolverine Exploration Company in Fort Worth. Jeanette also served as vice president, accounting at Petroleum Financial Inc. for five years before joining Jetta.

With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Jeanette is a member of the Council of Petroleum Accountants.  She received her M.A. degree from Texas Woman's University in 1970.

Rick Cornelius

Vice President, Land

Rick Cornelius has worked for Jetta since 1994 and is responsible for the management of all land operations. Prior to that, he worked for Texas Oil and Gas Corporation for more than 12 years and then became president of Millennium Energy Corporation, a small exploration company he founded in 1990.

Rick has over 35 years of oil and gas land experience, more than 25 years of that time in management and received his B.B.A. degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1970.

Bill Monroe

Vice President, Geology

Bill Monroe began working for Jetta in 1994. He is responsible for the development of the North Louisiana properties. Bill has worked as a geologist in the petroleum industry for more than 40 years with specific experience in the Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast provinces, South Arkansas, Oklahoma, West Texas and the East Texas Basin. 

Bill earned his B.S. degree in geology from the University of Texas in 1963 and his M.S. degree in geology from the University of California in 1965. Bill is the past president of the Fort Worth Petroleum Club  Board of Directors.

David Patterson

Vice President, Drilling and Operations

David Patterson has been a part of Jetta’s management team since 1998. With over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily in the Gulf Coast region, his work history covers the full range of drilling, production and operations management.

Prior to joining Jetta, David was president and owner of COG Services and provided consulting and contracting services in the Gulf Coast area.

Michael F. Richardson

Vice President, Engineering and Exploitation

Michael F. Richardson leads the technical team at Jetta and has been with the company for eight years. With over 20 years in the oil & gas industry, he has extensive experience in reservoir engineering, stimulation, production and field development. Mike has also held key positions with Exxon Mobil and Union Pacific Resources. He is a 20 year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has served as chairman of the Fort Worth section and has authored numerous technical papers.  Michael earned his B.S. degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989.
