Gregory A. Bird is president and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. headquartered in Fort
Worth, Texas.
Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A & M University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in
petroleum engineering, Greg was the recipient of the Robert L. Whiting award for outstanding
senior petroleum engineering student.
After college, Greg worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and Cawley, Gillespie & Associates in
areas of reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis. He became a
partner with CG&A in January, 1989.
Greg is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Fort
Worth Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also serves as a board member of
several organizations including the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Industry Board,
TCU Energy Institute and the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America Foundation. In addition,
he is the 2010 -2012 president of the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of American and the 2009-10,
2010 -2011 president of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth as well as a member of the Fort Worth
Air Power Council. Greg is a member of several professional organizations including the Texas
Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Texas Oil & Gas Association and the
Fort Worth Wildcatters. He is also involved in other community and philanthropic efforts
through the Gregory A. and Laura E. Bird Foundation.
